LIFERS (Local Information for Environmental Reporting System) is a community-based environmental reporting platform that connects Oakland residents with the agencies and partners responsible for addressing local environmental problems. Whether you’re at home, at work, at school, or out in your neighborhood, LIFERS is here for you and your community to report, document, and track solutions to environmental concerns.

Report a complaint about odors, smoke, dust, or other air pollutants from refineries, gas stations, asbestos, idling trucks, locomotives, and buses, open burning, and other commercial, manufacturing, and industrial facilities and operations.

Report a complaint about smoke from indoor wood burning devices such as fireplaces and wood stoves. Wood burning is prohibited when a Spare the Air alert is in effect, year-round. Learn more at SpareTheAir.org.
