As an Authentically Oakland 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we are committed to addressing environmental injustices and fostering a sustainable future for our vibrant community. Our mission is fueled by passion, pride, and a commitment to empower every Oaklander, from youth to elders, to join in the fight for a cleaner, greener, and more equitable city.

💡 Get Involved: We’re looking for 100+ East Oakland residents to join our Environmental survey and help shape our community’s future. Plus, opt-in for our Community Alert Registry for Emergencies (CARE) Environmental Alerts to stay informed on the key issues impacting Oakland.

On Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM – 2 PM, join us at Arsola's House for a celebration of community power and environmental action! Hosted by Lifers and sponsored by the California Climate Investments Program through CARB’s Clean Air Grant Program, this block party–style kickoff brings together music, culture, food, and resources with a purpose: building a cleaner, healthier Oakland for all.

Community Clean-Ups: The Lifers Takeover

Before the block party kicks off, we’re starting the day with action!
Join us at 9:00 AM for the very first Lifers Cleanup Takeover, a hands-on effort to care for our city and set the tone for a healthier Oakland.

This is the first of five community clean-ups that will take place alongside the installation of Oakland’s new air monitors. Whether or not it’s your neighborhood, your presence makes a difference. Every sweep, every bag of trash, every act of care is a boost to Oakland’s self-esteem — one cleanup at a time.
